Course Description

The course aims to give a full description of the ethical, legal, cultural and professional issues related to the age of computers and information.  

 

Course Contents

  • Unlimited proliferation of computers in the contemporary world.

  • The information age: the abundance of information flow, the Internet.

  • The areas of computers in the modern world: banks, electronic commerce, government departments, medicine, education, entertainment, leisure, legal work, communication, means of travel and transport.

  • Overview on the legal aspects: intellectual property of software, software contracts and legal liability, privacy and the law of data protection, computer misuse.

  • Computer professionals associations, career and professional ethics.
